Move that bus! The day is finally here when the home is revealed to Alisha, Curtis, Justin, Kirkland and Laila. And we can't wait for them to see it! Hopefully it is all that they have dreamed for... and more! If you want to come out to see the house, park at Eastland Mall and take the bus to the site. Move that bus is scheduled for around 2:00, so plan to get there early for the best viewing locations. See you there!

Well it's move-in day, starting this afternoon anyway, and there are still a few items left to be done on the house this morning- mainly painting! The tile and flooring installers were busy into late last night/early this morning... as were the cabinet, appliance, kitchen/bath and lighting installers.
We can't wait to turn over the keys to the house!

The windows are in and shingles and solar panels are being put on the roof. The drywalling is continuing and by the time the painters finish the outside it will be time to paint inside. The landscapers have done a great job and the finishing touches are being made to the daycare's backyard playground.
There are lots of energy saving features in this home's design besides the solar panels, including high efficiency appliances and heating / cooling systems, a specialty water system that recycles rainwater for the lawn sprinkler system, and cool materials like bamboo and cork in use throughout the home.

Even with the thunderstorm shower yesterday afternoon, things keep going on the house. The house is framed, the house wrap is on, and the siding is going up. Inside the house the HVAC, plumbers and electricians are working hurriedly to finish so the insulation installers and drywallers can start their part.
There is another donation opportunity today that everyone can help with. Alisha not only provides day care help and meals to families, but she also had a donation center where she would collect and disburse clothing and shoes. We really want to help and expand that Extreme style! Donate new or gently used items to help outfit the donation center in the new house. Please drop off donations at Eastland Mall from 9am til 2pm. Michael Moloney will be there around 11am, so please stop by and say hello!

Leave it to Michael Moloney to raise $16,000 for the family by auctioning a private tour of the house with him as the tour guide! And with the support of everyone else, the total raised was over $25,000! Just amazing.
While many of us enjoyed the great concert last night, there was still work to do on the house... and the workers have been busy. The old house has been completely removed (by the truckload), the basement has been dug and concrete has been poured. Framing started this morning and the house is really starting to take shape.

This morning around 8:00 is the builder and volunteer braveheart walk to the home and shortly after will be demolition. Spectators are invited from here on out to watch the home be demolished and rebuilt by Sunday!
Also check out the benefit concert being given tonight by Damien Horne- an outstanding artist from Nashville. All profits from concessions and t-shirt sales will be given to the family. You may even see a few familiar faces from the show there! The concert is from 7:30 to 10:00 at:
