American Heartland Homes and Women-Centric have a process that makes building a Charlotte Custom home easy, fun and affordable.  We at American Heartland have listened to you the buyer and want to make you happy.

The Women-Centric process makes the whole experience less stressful. Most Charlotte Home Builders discourage you from making changes. We want to build you that new home you have always dreamed of.

Charlotte Design and Women-Centric is very important to us. That is why we give you 3 ways to find a plan.

  1. You can choose  from one of our stock plans and make a few changes to it if needed.
  2. You can view plans that were designed for other people who share your Women-Centric personality type. Have you taken our quiz,  “Finally About Me?”
  3. Or you can build you own plan. It’s simple; you first pick out an elevation or two that you like. The Second step is to pick out 1 or 2 floor plans that you like. Third, call one of our Women-Centric Designers to but the two ideas together. It is that simple.  

Charlotte Basements : American  Heartland likes to build homes with a basement. Whether it is a walkout basement or a 4 corner basement, American Heartland will give you a price for that basement either finished or left for you to finish at a later date.  

Building Time Frames Are Quicker Than You May Think
Once you have decided on a lot and house plan, here is what you can expect

Step 1 and Day 1: We sit down have the first of 5 meeting together. At this time, concentrate on getting the home started and just think about the following questions:

  1. The position of the home on the lots
  2. The elevation of the home
  3. The type of windows to be used

Step 2 and Day 30: The starting of the foundation for the home. We will now meet for a second time to finalize the following:

  1. Exterior colors for any brick, stone, siding, roof and gutters
  2. We will need to finalize the layout of the kitchen
  3. We will need to finalize all wall placements
  4. We need to know your flooring material choices and where they will go

Step 3 and Day 50 : We should be framing at this point, we will meet a third time to finalize the following:

  1. All electrical placement
  2. All heating and cooling items
  3. All plumbing specifications
  4. Cabinets to be used
  5. And finally all insulation and drywall question and concerns

Step 4 and Day 105:  At our fourth meeting we should be installing drywall and at this time we need to finalize the rest of the interior colors and material types. We will need to finalize:

  1. Trim package
  2. Paint colors
  3. Ceramic tiles
  4. Counter tops
  5. Electrical fixture package
  6. Plumbing fixture package
  7. Flooring selections

Step 5 and Day 150: We should be completed with your home and be presenting the home to you for your inspection, your home orientation and how to operate all its special features. We will have a closing day set, or if not this date should get finalized soon.

This is the Women-Centric approach to building a new home. We try to keep the process organized for you. We have you concentrate on the questions we need answers to now and give you time to make the rest of your choices later. To ask you to make all of your decisions at one time makes the process stressful and not fun. We constantly meet with you and help guide you through the home building process.

The process is all about you.
American Heartland doses this for you so that the process doesn’t overwhelm you.

    • Condition of Your Lot
      • The biggest surprise a lot owner gets after they purchase a lot is how much additional site work may be required to make the lot buildable. Not every part of the lot may be buildable either. For example, the foundation may require piers or pads. Or drainage issues may require extensive excavation work, which can run into thousands of dollars. And there are other considerations as well, including easements, zoning laws, property line restrictions, architecture guidelines and review processes.
